A moving sculpture powered by an Arduino circuit. "Ama" are Japanese seafood and pearl divers, primarily women. The outcome is a silicone robot living in a water tank, inflating and deflating over time. The work should inspire the audience to consider cyborgs in contemporary culture, and how they relate to humanity’s sense of identity and body image, particularly pertaining to women and queer people.
